Howdy, howdy Katie, 👋
💕 How are you?
My elementary-aged boys were at a Halloween party over the weekend, and they came home singing two distinct songs—and it turns out they weren’t alone. All the kids wanted these two 1980s songs playing over and over:
- 🏃♂️ Ghost Busters
- 🏃♀️ This 1980s German pop song I didn’t even recognize
If you were an 80’s kid like me, you don’t even have to understand the lyrics to that second song. Everything about it transports you right back to childhood. 🚀
. . . But you know what I reallllllly wish I had during this fabulous flashback?
I constantly hear you all pining for it, too.
You tell me: “Well shoot, Katie, I wish I had written stories about what I was like when I was a kid.”
Or more importantly: “I wish I had my mom’s old stories written down.”
Or your dad’s.
Your grandma’s.
The generations of people who’ve shaped who you’ve become. ❤️
I wish I had these, too. If I had a magic wand, I’d make their incredible stories appear in our hands, completely handwritten.
🤔 Alas, no wand. Not even for Halloween!
It’s a good thing I’ve gotten really good at prompting questions. 😉
You're going to looooooove what I've got planned for all of us. I'm so excited that I get to tell you next week!
Of course, I bet you're ready for this week’s free family printable! Here ya go:
🤩 Will you get a twisted tongue?
It's weird—I thought all of my kids already knew all about tongue twisters and how crazy they can get. Nope! We really fumbled through these with crazy joy.
Go have fun with the kids you care about, too.
